GETTING TO RIO DE JANEIRO

aviao v2.png

We appreciate those traveling from afar to celebrate this special day!

HOW CAN I GET TO RIO FROM THE U.S.?

When traveling to Rio de Janeiro by plane, you can choose between the city’s two main airports: Rio de Janeiro/Galeão International Airport – Antônio Carlos Jobim (GIG) and Santos Dumont Airport (SDU). GIG handles both international and domestic flights, while SDU operates primarily domestic ones. The two airports are located just 16 minutes apart. We recommend booking your flights well in advance to secure the best rates and availability.

VISA APPLICATION & TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

We want to ensure a smooth travel experience

for our guests from abroad.

Here's a quick guide on visa requirements for entering Brazil:

DO YOU NEED A VISA?
Yes!

As of April 10, 2025, U.S., Canadian, and Australian passport holders require a visa to visit Brazil for tourism, including attending our wedding. If you hold a European or South American passport, you most likely don't need a visa, but please confirm by visiting their website here

Please ensure your passport is valid for at

least six months before departure.

APPLYING FOR AN E-VISA
U.S. citizens can conveniently apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) online. Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Brazilian e-Visa
Click here and visit the official website.

2. Create an account

Click "Sign Up" and follow the prompts to create a login and receive a verification code (OTP).

3. Start your application

Once logged in, you'll be guided through

the application process.

4. Required documents for the application

You'll only need a clear picture of your passport and a recent 3x5 digital photo (a selfie with a white background works perfectly). Don't worry about filling out the additional document sections; they're not required for this visa type.

5. Cost and processing time

The e-Visa costs $80.90, is valid for ten years with multiple entries, and is typically processed within five business days. However, applying at least two months before your travel date is recommended to allow for any unforeseen delays. You can track your application status after submission.

UPON ARRIVAL IN BRAZIL

Present a printed copy of your approved e-Visa and your passport to immigration officials. It is also a good idea to bring two physical copies and keep a digital copy on your phone for easy access.
We hope this information helps. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us.
